Dora and Friends is taking over our house. She is all over the TV and now my 4 year old daughter is now playing the new Dora and Friends app.
The grown up Dora is very popular with both kids and we were excited about the new game. We downloaded it last night and within 5 minutes she was shooing me away so she could get on with it. The new app is about creating worlds for Dora and her buddies and then making a story to go with it.
There are loads of gorgeous backgrounds to choose from and each setting is packed with animating characters and props to bring your preschooler’s story to life.
Once my daughter had chosen a background herself, she added all of her favourite Dora characters and gave them a picnic. Then she hit the record button and told a story while moving the characters and props around the screen. Pablo played soccer with Naiya, Kate and Dora danced and went for a swim and the Big Bad Wolf chased the Three Little Pigs. I got to play the part of the Three Little Pigs.
When the story had finished recording, we played it back and she was thrilled! It was completely gorgeous hearing her little voice narrating the action she had created. And the best news? We can keep it forever. You can even email the stories to family and friends.
The app is so easy to play and there are no annoying pop ups or extras to buy, so no interruptions.
Preschoolers will nail the navigation in a few minutes. You can also build your own characters to use, so you can make a mini version of your family to play with Dora if you like. Our favourite part of the app is the music. You can choose from around 10 different soundtracks for your story, so it rocks along.
It’s a great app for the whole family to play together and for $3.79, I think it’s good value. There are endless combinations of stories to create, so kids won’t get tired of it.
Dora and Friends is the perfect app to keep kids entertained over the holiday period.
