The Goodwood Festival of Speed always promises to bring us some exciting unveilings of new cars. One of the most anticipated new releases of this year’s festival is the all new Mercedes CLS.
The latest version of Mercedes’ four door coupe will strut it’s stuff for the first time (officially) at the popular festival in West Sussex, England. The festival takes place from 26 to 29 June this year.
The new Mercedes CLS akeover is quite impressive. While the automaker obviously stuck to the classic, elegant lines that we have come to expect from the CLS, some new, modern improvements will definitely put the CLS in a league of it’s own.
Firstly, the new CLS will feature a new front and rear fascia. Also, the headlights will receive a facelift, with the car now showing off sleek, Active Multibeam ILS LED lights. No doubt that the new headlights will have a significant impact on the look of the car.
The MLS will also receive a new steering wheel as well as a new free standing display. As for the transmission, you can expect Mercedes’ new 9G Tronic Automatic transmission in the car. This means the the CLS will now have nine gears.
Obviously, as it is with most updates/makeovers, the interior will also receive an update and of course the car will be equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s new Comand System.
After it’s been shown off at the Goodwood Festival, insiders believe that the car (which is expected to sell like hit cakes) will be available to purchase at showrooms across the globe in September.
We’re always excited to see a new Merc, and, as we are already impressed with the CLS, the updated version will just be the cherry on the cake.
