We know there are some pretty expensive cars in the world. If you are dreaming of owning a Aventador, Bugatti or Rolls Royce Ghost – you know you’ll have to pay a pretty penny for one of those! However, the most expensive car in the world is not a modern, tech-loaded speed racer. No. In fact, it’s more than 50 years old.
Apparently, this 1962, Ferrari 250 GTO is the most expensive car in the world.
The Ferrari 250 GTO is, of course, an absolute classic. It’s famed throughout the auto world and will forever be remembered as one of the best and most impressive cars of its generation. It also helps that only 36 of these 250 GTO’s were ever made.
Most recently, another Ferrari 250 GTO sold at an auction for a record breaking $38.1 million. However, tis specific Ferrari 250 GTO – with serial number 3647GT – is valued at a whopping $60 million!
This specific Ferrari 250 GTO was arrived at it’s first owner on the 16th of June, 1962. This 52-year old car is anything but old. It’s an absolute classic, preserved in all its natural beauty and glory.
It was originally sold for $6000 back in 1962 and spent its first few years galavanting around the professional racing circuit. Nowadays, however, the car has not given up on its racing roots (well, kind of) and now takes part in many vintage car events – where it is undoubtedly the star of the show.
Decked out in Rossa Corsa exterior and a sleek, midnight black interior, this Ferrari 250 GTO is any collectors dream. That is, if you have a spare $60 million lying around…
