Kids Can Learn Creativity By Coding

Over a one week holiday camp (3-5 days), Sydney-based {CodeCamp} teaches school students how to code and develop their creativity into to their very own iPhone and iPad apps.

{CodeCamp} originated when founders Ben Levi and Pete Neil were approached by young friends and family about how to make apps. The existing options were learning at home by following via a book or online course. Ben and Pete felt there had to be a better way, where kids could have fun, learn together, and enjoy the feeling of developing an idea in your head into an app in your pocket.

So we built a curriculum, booked a room and organised our first camp for January 2014 - which was so popular, it sold out within 3 weeks.

These first camps exceeded all expectations and judging by the great feedback, exceeded those of the parents and kids. More camps were organised, the team grew from 2 to 5 and they sold out weeks in advance. During one Easter holidays 65 kids were taught to code and they proudly took their apps home to mum and dad!

Long before {CodeCamp} Ben and Pete had discussed how they both wished they had learned to code in school, so to now be facilitating and providing such an opportunity to so many students is simply awesome.
