The Robot Teddy Bear That Helps Cancer Patients

If you’ve ever watched Big Hero 6 and wished Baemax was real, this is for you.

Huggable is a fully responsive robot teddy bear developed by the MIT media lab.

This amazing robot can converse with people, respond to emotions, feel, touch and hug.

Huggable is being developed to use in children’s hospital wards to help sick kids deal with illness and the trauma surrounding their illnesses.

With around 20% of kids suffering from PTSD after recovering from a serious disease like cancer, robots like Huggable have an important job to do.

They lift spirits, listen and delight children and bring a bit of sunshine to their day, when they need it most.

Have a look at the remarkable Huggable teddy bear befriending a 10 year old Leukemia sufferer, Aurora, here.
