Bugatti has huge plans for Veyron successor

Bugatti Veyron Successor

We know that when Bugatti does something, the do it right. And that is exactly the case when it comes to the much anticipated successor to the  enigmatic Veyron.

There is no official confirmed date yet for the (yet to be named) Veyron successor, but reports are stating that we can expect to witness the magic in 2016. The automaker has not released a lot of information about the car, but slowly there are trickling more more and more details – and this latest bout of details has got us properly frothing.

According to a report by Autocar, the Veyron’s successor will house the same – albeit updated – engine as the Veyron. and to refresh your memory, that is a 8.0 liter, W16 engine. Some sources also claim that the Veyron’s successor will incorpated hybrid technology, something the existing Veyron lacks, of course.

As for the power output, Veyron is reportedly aiming at an incredible 1,479 horsepower. When it come sot top speed, Bugatti is not playing around either; the company allegedly expects the Veyron successor to reach a top speed of 286mph!

The exterior of the Veyron successor will feature carbon fibre and will stay with same, two seater seating plan. Naturally, as car technology is moving at the speed of light, the new car will have high tech features.

The company is also not resting in their laurels – testing has already begun in the monster car, so perhaps we can catch a glimpse of it in a sneaky spy shot sometime soon.

Interestingly, Bugatti’s details about the Veyron’s successor comes at the same time as their fierce competitor Hennessey.

Just yesterday, we reported on Hennessey’s plans for their Venom GT successor, called the Venom GT F5. Hennessey plans for the Venom GT F5 to hit a top speed of 290mph, which of course is slightly faster than the planned top speed for the Veyron successor.

Also, Hennessey recently style the land speed record from Bugatti after the Veyron GT broke it. So naturally there is a bit of a rivalry between these two.

So who will come up on top with the successor? Will it be the Veyron or the Venom?
